The Qur’an license means:
A testimony or certificate of perfection and authorization from the authorized Sheikh to the reciter that he has recited the entire Qur’an over him without Looking in the book and with the rules of Tajweed perfectly by the narration or narrations that are permitted to him to have, and he gives him permission that he is qualified to recite with it and teach others; by obtaining this permission, the reader will have contacted his chain of transmission to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and became part of the chain of transmitters of the Book of God Almighty with the attached chain of narrators .
The origin of it is: Allah Almighty’s saying: “And you will receive the Qur’an from the All-Wise, All-Knowing” [6:27]
So, it’s a meeting between two people: they are the recipient and the receiver or the teacher and the student; as for Gabriel – peace be upon him – he received it from Allah Almighty, and our Prophet Muhammad received it from Gabriel, and the Companions received it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
